Taxis and Tenders
EBDG brings extensive experience in designing innovative and efficient water taxis, including the ROBERT H, built in 2019 for Wendella Sightseeing Boats and now operating on the Chicago River. Our designs emphasize energy efficiency and sustainability, with options for customizable all-electric or hybrid propulsion systems. With low-wake hulls, spacious decks, climate-controlled cabins, and ADA-compliant amenities, EBDG’s water taxis offer comfortable, accessible, and environmentally friendly waterfront transportation solutions.
24’ Skiff
Coastwise Engineering completed the detail design and construction support of a new walkthrough style sport boat. This vessel is designed to be a multi-function Alaskan skiff built for fishing, beach operations, wildlife viewing or even hauling light cargo.
The aluminum sport craft is built for any Alaskan adventure. This vessel is powered by twin 140 horsepower outboard engines that when paired with the other design elements, boasts a performance of 3 miles per gallon at 22 miles per hour. This vessel was designed with an open bow ideal for beach landings and optimal wildlife viewing while also capable of hauling plywood, 20-foot-long lumber or a side loading ATV. Other features of this vessel include eight roof-top rocket launcher fishing rod holders as well as two down riggers in the stern for premier fishing. This craft is also setup to support the future installation of a davit for a 250-pound pot puller.

29’ Lake Boat ALASKA NELLIE
Coastwise Engineering provided detail design, structural calculations and stability engineering for a lake boat landing craft for Alaska Wildland Adventures. The ALASKA NELLIE transports up to 20 passengers around Skilak Lake, Alaska, to lodges on the shores of the glacier carved lake.
The aluminum passenger landing craft is powered by twin 250 horsepower outboard engines and has a fuel capacity of 250 gallons. The ALASKA NELLIE has bench seating along each side of the vessel so that every passenger has a window seat. Vinyl roll-away windows allow for unobstructed views in all weather conditions.

60’ Hybrid Electric Water Taxi
EBDG developed a concept design for an innovative water taxi that provides energy efficient waterfront transportation using either all-electric or hybrid propulsion. The mono-hull bow loader produces a low-wake and has capacity for 99 passengers and 16 bicycles.
The electric propulsion system is highly customizable for specific operations. Lithium-ion batteries can be installed as the sole source of propulsion power, or to complement propulsion diesel generator sets. With the installation of shore power charging, the vessel can operate in all-electric mode to maximize fuel and emission reductions.
