EBDG has provided vessel engineering and design expertise for the offshore industry. Our clients include oil companies, shipyards, operators, contractors, service companies and suppliers. We have performed concept through detailed engineering of hull structures, marine systems, and specialized equipment. In addition to new design, our team is frequently called upon to provide plans for modifications and conversions of existing vessels.
EBDG has designed concept offshore vessels ranging from 250' to 292' for a number of owners proposing various tank farm arrangements.

185’ Lightering Support Vessel
EBDG designed a new series of 185’ lightering support vessels. Four vessels are built to this design. The vessels are ABS classed, USCG certified, Subchapter I and SOLAS certified. Design features include a foc’sle tumblehome and narrow house to reduce chance of tanker impact. The vessels maintain a 13’ draft at the stern in all working conditions, has a dedicated cargomaster landing area and a 30”x18” long stern roller.
220’ Offshore Supply Vessel
EBDG partnered with Gulf of Mexico operator, SeaMar, LLC and Gulf Island Marine Fabricators on the class concept, design and production engineering of the 220' offshore supply vessels, CAPE COD and CAPE HORN. The vessels are ABS classed, USCG certified, Subchapter L vessel. Design features include Tier 3 marine diesel engines, an innovative tank farm, and three thruster configurations to enhance maneuverability. Additional features include a fuel management system, 5,500-gpm firefighting system and accommodations with 10 staterooms, a fully equipped exercise room and a conference/cinema room. EBDG provided full design services including structural, mechanical, piping and outfitting design, and served as the primary point of contact for all regulatory body requests for information.
