EBDG’s design portfolio includes a concept design for an LNG ship assist tug. This concept could provide 60 tons of bollard pull using dual fuel engines burning natural gas. Designed for ultra-low emissions, this tug provides superior service for ports seeking to lead as environmental stewards.

Design Features

  • Operates at reduced power (30%, suitable for transit) on diesel only

  • The hull design produces high indirect towing forces and is suitable for exposes and partially protected waterways.

  • The deck machinery is arranged for safe, efficient operation in handling a variety of vessel types with excellent all-around visibility from the pilothouse.

  • The LNG is stored in a Type C tank, protectively located under the deck forward of the accommodations.
