Cushman Dam FSC Contract Design

EBDG, subcontracted by MWH Americas, designed and oversaw the construction of a floating surface collector at Lake Cushman Dam for Tacoma Power. The collector measures 91 feet by 48 feet by 10.5 feet. EBDG provided ballasting instructions and conducted the final stability analysis, ensuring the collector’s readiness for operation. Our involvement ensured a successful implementation, supporting Tacoma Power's environmental management efforts.

Baker Lake Floating Surface Collector

EBDG provided plan review, construction inspections, and onsite operational direction for the Baker Lake Floating Surface Collector (FSC) barge, commissioned by Puget Sound Energy. Situated upstream of Upper Baker Lake Dam, the FSC works with a fixed-net structure to collect salmon fingerlings. Our team conducted a rigorous hydraulic analysis and prepared over 400 multi-discipline drawings. EBDG’s involvement in commissioning and operational trials ensured the FSC’s efficiency and reliability.

Lower Baker Floating Surface Collector

Under a subconsultant agreement with MWH Americas, EBDG designed a bilge and ballast system for the Lower Baker Floating Surface Collector. This design aimed to enhance the function, reliability, and constructability of the Upper Baker FSC, adapting it to the specific conditions at the Lower Baker site. EBDG's design improvements support the effective management of aquatic life and environmental conservation efforts.

N. Fork FSC Value Engineering Study

EBDG conducted a value engineering study workshop for the North Fork Floating Surface Collector for Tetra Tech Inc. This study aimed to identify improvements and optimize the design for enhanced performance and cost-effectiveness, demonstrating EBDG's commitment to innovative and efficient solutions for floating surface collectors.
