Data Barge

EBDG supported Nautilus Data Technologies with structural design and construction support of their innovative, first-of-its-kind, floating data center. The data center was built on a refurbished 230' deck barge, originally constructed in 1969. The floating data center is now permanently moored at the Port of Stockton.

EBDG’s Scope

EBDG conducted a comprehensive survey and oversaw the complete refurbishment of the hull. Our team was on-site at Lind Marine, ensuring the successful replacement of 125 tons of steel and the addition of 700 tons of new superstructure. We provided engineering, design, and construction support for the above-deck server warehouse structure and high-volume seawater cooling system. EBDG also worked closely with the client to design and integrate a unique rotating screen system serving the seawater intakes to protect small fish and prevent debris from entering the system.
