1,500 HP ATB Tug
Coastwise Engineering provided design, engineering, and construction support for a shallow draft articulated tug and barge set. The unique set of vessels, owned by Brice Marine of Fairbanks, Alaska, is designed to serve remote rural Alaskan communities and construction sites with shallow rivers or bays and unimproved beaches. The 70-foot steel shallow draft tug, ALULAQ, is an uninspected vessel designed to meet the proposed USCG subchapter M regulations. The tug design includes a Beacon Finland Ltd 11.75” pneumatic pin coupling system which connects with the barge. The ALULAQ has three screws with a total of 1,500 horsepower, and a true light operating draft of 3’-9”.
3,000 HP ATB Tug
EBDG provided contract design, detail design, and production support for an ATB pairing for Harley Marine Services, now operating as Centerline Logistics. The tug is the 95' DALE R LINDSEY and the barge is the 220′ PETRO MARINER. The 3000 HP ATB tug is designed to Sub-Chapter M Towing Vessel regulations and ABS Steel Vessels Under 90 Meters. The vessel’s features include a raised foc’sle to house an Articouple pin system, and an elevated pilothouse that allows for a 50' line of sight. The tug was designed for primary operation in the exposed waters of Southeast Alaska.
6,000 HP ATB Tug
EBDG designed a 6000 HP ATB tug to pair with EBDG’s designed 83,000-barrel or 120,000-barrel ATB barge. The tug has an overall length of 118', a beam of 40' and a draft of 14'. The vessel comfortably sleeps 10 crew and has a fuel capacity of 102,500 gallons.
